Incoming Spring 2025 Gabelli School of Business graduate students recently attended a welcome session that focused on acclimating them to all that is going on. The event was hosted by Elizabeth Ostler, Ally Callaghan, Ana Elena Gomez Wallis, Odette Ofosu-Siaw, and Louisa Scheiter. Leigh Anne Statuto of the Gabelli School Responsible Business Center also presented. Students got to know their fellow classmates and learned about the Responsible Business Leadership Certificate that provides the knowledge and skills needed to lead effectively and responsibly in business.

On December 13, hundreds of NYC high school studen

On December 13, hundreds of NYC high school students, from across the boroughs, descended upon Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus. They participated in the SuitUp “Battle of the Boroughs” competition, which focused on building a diverse talent pipeline in the financial services sector by engaging students in an exercise that introduced them to the world of finance. This entailed having them create a product or service that celebrates and builds a sense of community in New York City.

Bronx Borough President, Vanessa Gibson, and Brooklyn Borough President, Antonio Reynoso delivered inspirational remarks.

Educational institutions that competed included: Liberty Partnerships Program, Bronx; Integration Charter Schools, Staten Island; St. Jean Baptiste High School, Manhattan; The Young Women’s Leadership School of Brooklyn and The Brooklyn School for Math and Research; and John Adams High School, Queens.

SuitUp also enlisted corporate partners including: Apollo Global Management, Ares Management, BlackRock, Global Atlantic Financial Group, Goldman Sachs, and Santander Bank, whose executives served as coaches and judges for the contest.

Students from the Liberty Partnerships Program in the Bronx took first place, with glasses that help to translate what others are saying into different languages so that all New Yorkers can understand one another.

The Professional M.B.A. Milan Trip reunion brunch,

The Professional M.B.A. Milan Trip reunion brunch, hosted by Program Director Sertan Kabadayi, Ph.D., and thoughtfully organized by Linda Agnew, was a heartwarming opportunity for students to reconnect and reminisce about their shared experiences. Assistant Dean Ilze Frierson added a special touch to the event with her presence, offering encouragement and sharing fond memories from the program. The brunch fostered a lively atmosphere of camaraderie, reflecting the strong bonds formed during the Milan trip.

The 2024 Lincoln Center Campus Consulting Cup Comp

The 2024 Lincoln Center Campus Consulting Cup Competition was held on December 12 in the McNally Amphitheatre. The three finalist teams–Comcast Cohort A - Emilio José Guerra Solórzano, Kleio Kantzia, Elizabeth Letson, Thomas Pustolka, Daniel Schwarz-Ruso, Zoe Wang; T-Mobile Cohort C - Jakin Chen, Mahek Gupta, Ethan Kim, Alexa Robins, David Schwartzman, Chuan Hsi Wu; YETI Cohort F - Antonios Billis, Catherine Killackey, Iris Ayman Mansar, Dea Shah, Maciel Torres, Dallas Tulloch—delivered amazing presentations. After careful consideration, the panel of industry executives who helped to judge the competition, chose YET Cohort F as the winner! Congratulations to all! Special thanks to Father Vin DeCola SJ, Lisa Green, Bozena Mierzejewska, Axel Roepnack, Mark Silver, Maria Saint Hilaire, all of the judges, the faculty members who coached their teams to victory, and all of those who worked behind the scenes to make this an outstanding competition!

Bigger and better than ever, the 2024 Rose Hill Consulting Cup Competition was held on December 11 in Keating Hall. The six finalist teams–RUO-Yeti: Claire Lee, Shaurya Sahni, Daniel Houck, Alexander Calianos, Andrea D’Souza, Le Cia Cayetano; ROO-Comcast: Erda Peqini, Kathleen Xiao, Phoung Do, Kayleigh Howard, John Barros; RUH-Yeti: John Stanley, Gabriela Narkaj, Maximilian Capala, Kahlil Towns, Thomas Kaiser, Julianne Nguyen; RBB-Colgate Palmolive: Neha Thyagarajan, Kevin Bock, Daniel Kloucek, Ben Kordyjak, Brooke Bastian, Noah Wetzel-Steward; RUF-Yeti: Jack Huot, Owen Cassidy, Rylie Perez, Joanna Lin, Grant Vialardi, Kelcey Sum; and RII Colgate-Palmolive: Brian Dong, Michael O’Keefe, Zeynep Aygun, Fabiola Rosado Prieto, Anesa Bajrovic, Carmen Rionda—delivered compelling presentations. After careful consideration, the panel of industry executives who helped to judge the competition, chose Team ROO Comcast as the winner. Congratulations to all! The Rose Hill Gabelli School Dean’s Holiday Part

The Rose Hill Gabelli School Dean’s Holiday Party held on December 5 in the lobby of Hughes Hall, kicked off the holiday season with great food and songs performed by the a cappella group, the Fordham Hot Notes. Everyone had a wonderful time, enjoying a much needed break just before finals. Thanks to all of those who helped to plan this very special event!
