On September 21, the Responsible Business Center a On September 21, the Responsible Business Center at the Fordham University Gabelli School of Business hosted a pre-summit send-off event at Ascent Lounge for local delegates of the One Young World Summit, which is taking place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, in October. The annual @oneyoungworld Summit convenes the brightest young leaders from 190+ countries and 250+ organizations, working to accelerate social impact. Many thanks to the Responsible Business Center, Linda Agnew, M.B.A. administrative manager; Barbara Marie Porco, Ph.D., associate dean of graduate studies and managing director of the Responsible Business Center; and Lahna Harper, managing ambassador for USA and Canada at One Young World (@oyw_uscan), for organizing this event and giving the delegates an opportunity to connect before the Summit.
On September 20, a group of Fordham University Gab On September 20, a group of Fordham University Gabelli School of Business administrators and staff members joined Dean Lerzan Aksoy, Ph.D., for a group volunteering opportunity at the local Bronx organization, Part of the Solution, Inc. (@potsbronx), which is a nonprofit that offers support to the local community in areas like housing, healthcare, hygiene, and food.

The group was able to serve approximately 448 hot meals to women, men, and children from in and out of the neighborhood. Our staff helped to plate the food, serve the meals, wash the dishes, and clean the tables. One of the core values of Fordham University is service. It is important that all members of the Fordham community have the opportunity to embody this Jesuit value and live our institution's mission, especially within our local communities.
Mario Gabelli ’65, chairman and CEO, GAMCO Inves Mario Gabelli ’65, chairman and CEO, GAMCO Investors, offered some advice to the Gabelli School of Business Class of 2027 at the Rose Hill campus on Sept. 19. After being introduced by Dean Lerzan Aksoy, Mr. Gabelli spoke about his professional journey and shared some of the insights he has gained during his long and highly successful career. Gabelli School seniors Leah Veneziano, GABELLI '24, and Mitchell Hyneman, GABELLI '24, then moderated a Q&A session with questions submitted by the audience.

Marketing ranked 10 (tied), up 7 points from last year; International Business ranked 11 (tied) up 5 points from last year; Finance ranked 14 (tied) up 1 point from last year; Entrepreneurship ranked 17 (tied) up 4 points from last year; and Accounting ranked 38 (tied), up 12 points from last year. Congratulations and our deepest gratitude to our faculty and staff who worked so hard for this incredible outcome!

Today is the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, whi Today is the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, which traditionally honors the cultures and contributions of both Hispanic and Latino Americans as we celebrate heritage rooted in all Latin American countries. Students should stay tuned for special content throughout the month!
On September 13, Fordham University Gabelli School On September 13, Fordham University Gabelli School of Business faculty and staff members celebrated the bright beginning of a new school year at the Dean's Welcome Reception, which took place at Rosa Mexicano. It was a great opportunity for different departments and faculty members from both campuses to catch up and share their exciting plans for the semester.
The McNally Amphitheater was abuzz with excitement The McNally Amphitheater was abuzz with excitement on September 7, as two titans of Wall Street, Leon Cooperman, founder, Omega Family Office, and Mario Gabelli ’65, chairman and CEO, GAMCO Investors, took to the stage to talk about their careers, their humble Bronx upbringings, and their deep commitment to giving back through philanthropic channels. The event, part of the “Financial Issues Forum,” a lecture series produced by the Gabelli Center for Global Security Analysis, in partnership with the Museum of American Finance, and the CFA Society New York, focused on Mr. Cooperman’s new book titled, “From the Bronx To Wall Street: My Fifty Years in Finance and Philanthropy.” Gabelli School of Business Dean Lerzan Aksoy delivered opening remarks. The candid discussion was moderated by James Russell Kelly, a senior lecturer in finance at the Gabelli School of Business and the Center’s director. A lively Q&A was followed by a reception during which Mr. Cooperman signed complimentary copies of his book.
