Blackboard

Understanding Blackboard

Blackboard is Fordham University’s learning management system, which can be accessed at any time from any computer with an Internet connection. Faculty and students in on- and off-campus courses use this application as a repository for course material and information.

Instructors can manage all course materials online, making them immediately accessible to students. All members of a course can use Blackboard for online discussions, collaborate on projects, share files, send emails, and much more.

Log Into Blackboard

Blackboard can be accessed from within the fordham.edu portal. Select ‘Log in to the Portal’ at the top, and authenticate with your Fordham credentials. Once logged in, go to the My Apps page, scroll down to Global Apps, and select Blackboard. Or, access Fordham’s Blackboard directly.

Blackboard Ultra

The Blackboard Learn system will be upgraded to support the Blackboard Ultra system instead starting Spring 2023. Beginning on July 1st, 2022, all of your courses will have a Blackboard Ultra shell option, allowing you time to prepare your courses in Ultra. To learn more about Ultra and how to prepare, create, or import your current courses check out our resource site.
